Hinduism Today Upgraded to 2.5
We are pleased to announce the upgrade of the http://www.hinduismtoday.com web site. We were running on a very old 2.1 version that we installed in 2008. Frankly the theme and home page and navigation etc. were in need of a lot of help.
We want to thank Simon Roberts (aka "Wishcraft") for the upgrade. He re-did the theme and added custom functions in record time.
We were not sure in 2008 if we had made the right decision with XOOPS, but today, this platform is looking really strong and with the help of experts like wishcraft, we are moving forward!

You can link with any json compliant system with complete w3c standard wsdl these will be completed in version 4.0 they are more just the abstract data layers of wsdl, they still need a dynamic mime type and other system written into them which the constructs are in place. You can transfer data between any sort tunnel through most of not all firewalls and poll your xoops platform from with another xoops or CMS or even things like .NET, Delphi and many other programming languages.
X-JSON is the quick way for cloud computing API's, you can link your xoops platform with any other computer network with this module, plug-in have complete WSDL compilation code and allow for easy and dynamic deployment.

XOOPS Community is the Best!
This year we've made to the Top 5 Open Source CMS in the Packt Publishing's Awards, but unfortunately we didn't make it to the Top 3.
One the judges (Bryan Ruby from CMS Report) published recently his evaluation scores.
The good news is that XOOPS got the highest score for the "Size and Support from Community" - the only CMS which got the "5".
I would like to thank each and everyone who provides support on the forums and is helping other XOOPS users. We have always stressed that our community is the most friendly and supportive, and it's nice to see it recognized and confirmed. Let's keep it going and keep helping each other, and especially those people who are just starting with XOOPS!

Structure of a Theme
Building some layouts, I realized that the usual templates as zetagenesis, Suico, and others, there are several css files. Google for SEO does not accept the inclusion in a row on top of the style.css file, and so I decided to adopt a simple method for all themes. Only three css files that are placed on the head of the line in the file themes.html or files meta.html in this way:
and in any such occasions and for sites that fit the phone, you can add the print.css file in this way:
Starting with the basic structure, we can define the files:
- xoops.css ... becomes the basis of the style of the theme for all the html tags and classes and IDs xoops.
- layout.css ... all the classes and id for the structure of the template.
- style.css ... all variants that may relate to jquery, mootool, and other libraries that need a style.
For example in my new theme I'm using instead of the title tag a class that makes me see your content on a popup near the mouse, which shows the description of the tag title "anchor" using jquery can change at will in the style.css file and so this class for other features that I want to take on my theme.
I think that all those who create new themes should deliver this kind of structure of the template.

Radioparties.co.uk powered by XOOPS
RadioParties.co.uk is an exciting new business allowing children to produce there own radio show in a proffesional radio studio with professional equipment.
RadioParties is part of CamGlen radio a local charity run radio station based in Cambuslang, Glasgow, the aim of radioparties is to generate income to fund CamGlen radio's community based charitable work.
The website is built on xoops 2.4.5 as the staff required an easy to use yet powerfull CMS solution so they could do most of the content and updates themselves.
The theme is my first attempt at building a XOOPS theme from scratch using DIV's instead of table layout.
The site uses various modules including the content module, tadgallery, mastop go2 and debaser for uploading recordings and soundbites of recorded parties.
I also provided training in use of the Xoops CMS which I have to say the staff found very easy to use, overall the where very impressed with XOOPS as the content management system.
