The XOOPS FAQ is OPEN !We are very pleased to announce the opening of XOOPS FAQ. Check out the link on the left hand panel menu to see the XOOPS FAQ. From now on this could be your NO:1 visit even before posting on the forums!
XOOPS is "Powered by you!" So ... we need your input!
The FAQ is as good as you make it. Help XOOPS users of all levels of experience find the answers to their questions by adding questions and answers to the FAQ! The XOOPS Support Forums are a rich resource for the FAQ, your help could make it a lot easier for everyone to find the answers they are looking for!
Your skills and experience could also help make it the best, because we need your help with moderating member submissions and contributions. We need to keep the quality high, the answers up-to-date, the items findable and understandable. Thanks to the excellent moderation features in this new version of SmartFAQ it is even easier to merge and edit content. We really need just a little bit of time from a few experienced users. Can you help? This is a great opportunity to drive this project forward and create the best Content Management knowledge base on the net! We have the tools, we have the skills and experience, but we need volunteers to help us. email carnuke@xoops.org if you are interested.
XOOPS FAQ uses Marcan's excellent SmartFAQ module and will soon become the premiere knowledge base of help, instruction and advice for all XOOPS users.
Google Search for XOOPS
We have recently translated our Google Search for other CMS's to XOOPS! This is a full featured search engine that is found and in use at Google!

The Add-on features a quick search block that includes searching the WWW as well as the hosted domain. It has advanced search features such as - language, format, occurances, specific domains, and the Googls Safe Search!

Performance & Scalability Analysis Of Four Major Xoops Article Managers
One of the most important functions of a CMS such as Xoops is to manage content, so it is of little surprise that some of the most popular modules for Xoops are based around providing this functionality. The purpose of this article is to analyse the performance and scalability of four of these modules that are still actively being developed over a range of different hardware, and is the largest single performance analysis ever made for any Xoops module containing nearly 3200 individual pieces of data. The modules analysed in this article are News 1.2.1, WF-Section 2.07 Beta, Articles 0.17, and the new AMS module which is to be released during the first week of December. This article is of great relevance for all those using shared hosting services and/or those with high traffic sites.

download theme studioc_2005 and + howto doc of this theme
I'm happy to announce the download of the actual theme from http://studiocreativ.de which should be an example theme for a small company site. It's a very simple and easy layout which uses only css for positioning things. The download contains of the themefolder and a docfolder in which you will find a 14 pages *.pdf document of howto and some sourcefiles described in the document.
Howto describes my way to go from static html file to xoops theme and the way to include css stuff. Perhaps someone can use this.
documents and theme are in first version, so please send comments and ideas to make things better on update or next.
