XOOPSDEM Brussels 2005 - Rowd's Report
XOOPSDEM 2005 was fantastic! It was really great to be able to put names to faces, and to see that people's enthusiasm for XOOPS isn't just an online phenomenom.
When I finally returned home Monday night I found that I'd made pages and pages of notes of the meeting - well, indecipherable scribble really. I've tried to piece it all together here, for the benefit of those poor souls who couldn't make it to Brussels

"Marruecos Digital", a portal about Maroc in spanish.
This is a project driven by a journalist who wanted a news and community portal that reached, or surpassed, the quality of the online versions of the most important newspapers in Spain. Who should you call? Me. Who should I use? Mmmm... Should I pay Bill Gates latest house for my website? Man, no!!! Go Xoops!
This is a non-profit newspaper that challenges professional, sponsored online news sites. Someone said me i'd need ASP to reach such a professional result. He was wrong.

Xoops ODP v1.1 released
Since some people had problems with using first release of this module I added README file in new version with explanation how to stop geting 404 error messages or blank pages (on "some" servers). Hope that problem is solved now for everyone, just folow instructions in README file.

The XoopsDEM 2005 or When we meet the Xoops Gods
Right on time ! It’s 9.00 am and we are in the D building… But nobody’s in there! We all came together. The French speaking community decided to attend the meeting massively : Christian, Philou, Hervé, Marco and myself. The day was starting really bad, though. Anyway, after a shot walk around the place, we felt on a French guy who suddenly calls us in the street. Who was that guy? Does he know us? Do we know him? Yes, of course, he is Skalpa. One of the Xoops Development Core Team members. One of those guys you hear a lot about but never would expect to meet in the street… except here in Belgium, at the 2005 XOOPSDEM.

Aqsis site : Xoops driven
The homepage of the Aqsis Renderman compliant renderer project is now driven entirely by Xoops.

After searching for some time for either a dedicated web adminstrator to take over the role for the project, or a suitable, self sufficient, collaborative CMS to drive the site, I settled on Xoops. I haven't looked back, a great system, with some fantastic modules that is so easy to administer I can concentrate on programming Aqsis again. Backed up by a dedicated and keen support team, one of the best decisions I've made. Thanks to all at the Xoops project.
