Profile Photo Hack

This hack adds photo upload ability to Xoops 2 User Profile

you can download the hack HERE

see Demo HERE

to test the upload > username = demouser - password = demouser2005

It utilises the same function as the Avatar section but they are both seperate. This means that the photo settings can be customised in exactly the same way as the Avatars are, an extra menu has been added to the system menu in admin which
works exactly the same as the avatar manager.

Joy Magazine goes XOOPS

I am pleased to introduce XOOPS to Joy Magazine, a New Zealand based magazine for Christian ladies.

I was conducting a XOOPS training session at my church (http://www.albanycc.org.nz) when Bob McLaughlin, the Joy Magazine webmaster attended as a guest.

Well, Bob was reasonably impressed and in a short time was able to create a brand new high quality website using XOOPS and a free theme from 7dana.com. Bob is now building more websites with XOOPS technologies.

Personal Site online

Hi everyone,

I have just reached point where I dare to write here .
So, my site http://www.hoerlin.de is online. Find Information on Me, Training and my family history. Parts of the homepage have already been made multilingual, which means English and German.
Have fun surfing and I am looking forward to some feedback.

0.6 XAsset Module Released

I am pleased to announce the release of Xasset 0.6 beta. Version 0.6 sees the addition of:

1. Payment processing. Xasset manages the sale and distribution of digital media such as software or MP3 files. Once purchased, buyers can view their licenses. Xasset provides several payment gateways via a plug-in architecture. The first payment gateway implemented is payment via Paypal and verification via Paypal's IPN system. More payment gateway modules to follow.

2. Sales tax is catered for by defining countries and zones. An example of a zone would be the EU. The United Kingdom is setup to belong to the EU and then the EU is assigned a VAT code. Any buyers originating from the United Kingdom will then be charged VAT.

3. Support of multi-currencies. A base currency can be defined. Additional currencies can be defined which clients can then choose from. All package prices are recalculated according to the selected currency's exchange rate.

4. Applications can have several products defined, allowing different pricing structures for volume buying. Payments structures can also be set for factors such as license period and maximum download times to better manage your digital assets.

5. Digital assets are secured by providing a controlled download route. Each download request is checked against a valid license against the logged-in user.

6. Download logging.

XOOPS 2.0.10 Release Candidate 2

The XOOPS Core Development Team is happy to announce the release of XOOPS 2.0.10 RC2

We hope to bring you a 2.0.10 version without new bugs, but before we release the stable 2.0.10 we want to be sure.

Therefore we hope that this release can be tested thoroughly and no new bugs found.

NOTE: This is a full release ONLY - it is meant for testing and there ARE modules in this package. This means that if you have upgraded your News or Newbb modules to versions higher than 1.1 and 1.0, respectively, you should be VERY careful not to overwrite these modules' files when uploading. And although we want to test this both from fresh installations and upgrade installations, we do NOT encourage the use of this release candidate on production sites. You've been warned!

I have just created my company website without any external tech help. I am not a programmer, but have tried out some hacks.

My company Geometrix provides Software & Solutions to AEC professionals. Have a look at it at http://www.geo-metrix.com
I'd like your comments and suggestions.

http://xoopsfactory.de :: xf_newsmod_blocks V1.5

... for those, who had fun with the additional newsblocks ... here is an update, i added some blocks so now there are 6 blocks for different categories of news to display. It works fine with news version 1.1 but should work with 1.3 (but there we have some additional blocks though).

note:
This is a "module" from a theme dabbler and perhaps not the way a coder will do to get similar result. If in doubt, please try on a test page first.

grab it here: http://xoopsfactory.de/modules/AMS/
and have fun with it.

NZS UW (a student organization at Warsaw University)

Niezależne Zrzeszenie Studentów (NZS) is a student organization active since 1980. We chose XOOPS to build the current version of our site and got everything working with little effort. The modules used include: wfsections, piCal, xoops-statistics and multiMenu.
