SourceForge.Net is being filtered for Persian Internet users.
A traditional filtering act of Iranian officials harmed Xoopsers also. Yesterday, Aug 8th, 2005, Internet Service Providers in Iran were orderd to filter SourceForge.Net Preventing Persian users to download Xoops. The reason behind this act is unclear. SourceForge.net, the biggest Open Source website, has been hosting the Xoops and many other programs for years and its censorship may cause trouble for open Source Projects' users.
Hopefully this website will be removed from the Iranian Internet blocklist and the ones who had problems downloading such a great and free program will get their right to do so.

The Linux gamning community, linuX-gamers.net with more than 3500 visitors a day, has updated to XOOPS 2.2.
linuX-gamers.net has started in September 2003 with a small XOOPS installation. Now we are working on several projects to improve the greatest XOOPS modules.

MyWebResource on XOOPS 2.2!
Thanks to the efforts of a small but dedicated community, MyWebResource is growing every day. In an effort to meet the needs of our growing membership we have upgraded the site to the next generation of XOOPS (version 2.2).
Along with this upgrade has come a new look. Kudos to the designer of the new XOOPS default theme. With only a few minor changes in graphics and CSS, MyWebResource has taken on a whole new look that is clean and easy to navigate.
In addition to upgrading the core site and theme, we have also added even more tools to our growing library of resources. We now offer several handy wizards on our site for generating various navigation elements.
Our mission is to build a free, centralized portal where webmasters can go to gain access to everything they need to produce high-quality, user-friendly sites. If you would like to join our community and contribute your skills, please visit our Registration Page. All are welcome, and the only requirements for membership are an interest in web design and a willingness to share your knowledge with others.

jadoogaran now running with xoops2.2
whttp://www.jadoogaran.org is the first persian Harry Potter site with about 2 gigs of bandwidth daily and more than 3000 users.
We started it with XOOPS about 2 years ago.
Also we have a gallery with +2600 pics.
Now thanks to profile module (to mithrandir) we upgrade to xoops 2.2 and add some custom fields in profile for role playing characters we already have in rpg forums of our site.
The extensible profile module is exactly what we need for months.
In brief XOOPS 2.2 is a fantastic release from xoops team especially for community base web sites. THANK YOU ALL

Tropical mail is a port of Iloha Mail for Xoops. This is a webmail client, similar to squirel mail but more feature packed. Using this module you can allow your users to view their email accounts.
Some of it's features are:
- Imap (including folders) and pop3 support
- Multiple languages available for each user. This allows each of your registered user to view his/her email in their own native language.
- Bookmark manager
- Complete contact manager
- Calender
- Preferences set for each individual user.
