Originally, I started this site using version 2.2 of XOOPS, but recently rebuilt the site from the ground up with XOOPS version 2.0.15. Not all features are available yet, but building up the site on a regular basis.
TutorialMasters.com will in the future become a subscription site for hard to find tutorials, but will also offer its share of free ones.

Crusade_K Theme
Crusade_K is a 3column theme for XOOPS 2.0.x (including 2.0.15)
It includes psd file of the logo, the font to edit de psd file and the usual 2templates for the system module (redirect and site closed)
Header includes the login box for unregistered/anonymous users and a user menu for the registered users
Crusade_K is a 3column theme for XOOPS 2.0.x (including 2.0.15)
Best viewed in 1024+ screen resolution because of the fixed width of the buttons of header's menu (items are easily removable)
Theme was tested in Firefox and IE
Enjoy it !!!

2006 Open Source Content Management System Award Winner Announced
2006 Open Source Content Management System Award Winner Announced

Following a nomination round and eight weeks of voting, Packt are pleased to announce Joomla! as the winner of the 2006 Open Source Content Management System Award. Joomla! collects a first prize of $5,000 and the title of Packt Open Source CMS Award Winner for 2006.
The final result, as voted for by judges from The Open Source Collective, MySQL, the Eclipse Foundation, and 16,000 users on http://www.PacktPub.com saw a tie for first place between Joomla! and Drupal. In the event of a tie, a fourth independent judge would be brought in. This was Apoorv Durga who is a member of CM Pros and runs his own blog [http://apoorv.info/] on portals and content management. This crucial vote ended up with Joomla! triumphing over Drupal by one point.
The final result was as follows:
1. Joomla!- $5,000
2. Drupal - $3,000
3. Plone - $2,000
Please note that in deciding the final positions judges were asked to give their top three, with their first choice receiving 3 points, second receiving two points and third place one point.
Choosing the top three proved to be a difficult experience for the judges, due to the quality of the finalists and their ability to suit different tasks depending on the objective of the user. "All the CMS’s that made the top 5 are very good" declared Scott Goodwin, representing The Open Source Collective, "and I wouldn't hesitate to use any of them depending on what I'm trying to accomplish."
The judges had strong compliments for all five finalists, with some of the highlights listed below:

Has been around for quite some time and is stable and actively developed
Well coded and has an available granular permissions system and a strong eye for security
Configuration was a breeze
Lightweight installation
Plethora of modules and themes
Exceptional documentation and has an active and friendly community
The node concept is very good

Great for a retail site.

Cordemanon v1.01 minor bugfix release
Cusix Software has just released Cordemanon - a module for managing and downloading whitepapers - in an updated version 1.01.
The module is fairly simple with categories, customers and whitepapers, but the registration of downloads is more extensive than most download modules, the grouping of downloads by customers allows customers to manage their own whitepapers and files can be placed outside the web root to disallow direct linking.
Cordemanon was developed for Version2, a new Danish IT media, and modified slightly for public usage.
Version 1.01 has just a few changes:
1) Minor fixes in file path processing
2) Extended information about writeability of file path

Netquery v4.0 - Security Patch
Since announcing the release of Netquery version 4.0, I have been made aware of a potential vulnerability in the output of the client sniffer class that it uses. Details can be seen at SecurityFocus.com.
The issue has been addressed and all current Netquery downloads at VIRtech.org have been updated to correct the problem. For those who have already downloaded, a separate "do-it-yourself" patch kit is available from the same source. A copy of the README.txt file contained in the patch kit is reproduced below.

This patch for Netquery version 4.0 addresses a potential vulnerability issue originally reported by Zion Security (http://www.zion-security.com) and subsequently by others, including SecurityFocus (http://www.securityfocus.com) and SecurityTracker (http://www.securitytracker.com).
To install the patch, simply copy both PHP files (nqSniff.class.php and sanitize.inc.php) to the include files subfolder of the Netquery module, overwriting the existing nqSniff.class.php file in that subfolder. There is no need for any updating of Netquery itself. Nor do any of the module and block items in any of Netquery's CMS editions require updating.
Contrary to some of the details contained in the reports cited above, the potential vulnerability affects ALL editions of Netquery as they all use the same adaptation of Roger Raymond's client sniffer class. As output from that class has no built-in sanitizing feature, this patch addresses the issue by including Gavin Zuchlinski's sanitizer functions.
It should be noted that Roger Raymond's client sniffer is a widely used class. It is used, for example, in various functions of several content management systems, including both Postnuke and Xaraya. This patch addresses ONLY those potential vulnerabilities associated with Netquery's uses of its output.
