Lenoirmind.nl updated

Hello fellow XOOPS-ers,

Resized Image
I've recreated a theme for my LenoirMind :: art & (web) design portal and I've also modified the excellent Smartsection module into a -well- smartersection module. It now uses the metakeywords as a means to do flexible crosslinking between items within smartsection, but it also spans to other modules (debaser for instance for audio and video)

The portal focusses on artistic expressions as well as technological and scientific perspectives on these. I use the portal and additional applications I build for my artistic research that I undertake with different organisations. In this collaboration network LenoirMind.nl acts as a node for artistic information.

Lots of content is available only in dutch, but I've managed to keep the front page mostly english.

The site can be visited on LenoirMind :: art & (web) design

Feedback is welcome

Thanx for this excellent CMS system! And it's supporting OO framework XOOPS will be the CMS I'll be pushing as the main system acting as an 'information node'.

GreenLeaf Theme

Resized ImageThe GreenLeaf theme is a variable width, 1/2/3 column design that is highly flexible. The focus of this theme was to create a nice visually pleasing theme that satisfied the requirements of being variable width, 3 column compatible and XOOPS 2.0.16+ compatible.

As usual, this theme is XHTML 1.0 Transitional and CSS 1.0/2.0 compliant and is targeted towards users who’re not afraid of doing a little fine-tuning to personalize their theme to their site. Also, for those who want to further personalize the graphics, all source images are included.

I hope you enjoy using this theme as much as I’ve enjoyed designing it. If you find any bugs, please let me know and I’ll fix them as soon as I have the time.

XoopsInfo - The Evolution

XoopsInfo 2.11 : the ultimate utilities toolkit

We are pleased to announce a new version of the ModInfos module.
Due to the fact that we made several improvements to that module, we decided to rename it into "XoopsInfo", and to numerate it from 2.1x.
New features are many and essential, this (heavy) work from Dugris is in a way a compilation of all of your wishes, e.g. information and/or admin utilities you wanted to see in the xoops admin panel.

Caution : For those who want to keep the classical mimetype's manager, don't upload /class, /kernel and /language directory/files from the module's archive

Do you like fun things ?

While I was studying the Dojo javascript toolkit, I saw this effect that Mac users used to see.
On Dojo, this effect is called Fisheye :
Quote:

A menu that balloons out, similar to the launcher on OS X

Applyed to the Xoops News module, here is the result (click on the picture for a larger version) :

Another XOOPS Search Engine

I\'ve created another dedicated search engine (powered by Google Search engine) for XOOPS related information and it is hosted by Google.

The homepage of XOOPS search engine is http://www.google.com/coop/cse?cx=002889471476038244159%3Apnlpimoc6i4

1. What you can do with XOOPS Search Engine?

* Place a search box and search results on your website.
* Specify or prioritize the XOOPS sites you want to include in searches.
* Customize the look and feel to match your website.
* Invite XOOPS community to contribute to the search engine.

2. Why is Google launching this?

Google\'s mission is to connect people to information - no matter how specialized or specific - as quickly as possible. The Custom Search Engine allows you to combine Google\'s search algorithm with your own expertise to create a customized experience - thus making access to specific information across the web easier for your users.

3. Which are the websites included now?

I\'ve just included what I visit often to keep me updated about XOOPS. Please feel free to add your favourites to the index which will give the right information what XOOPS users would like to see in their search results.

4. How does anyone access the XOOPS Search Engine?

There are several ways to access our Xoops Custom Search Engine:

* Use the Google-hosted Xoops Search Engine homepage:

http://www.google.com/coop/cse?cx=002889471476038244159%3Apnlpimoc6i4

* You can place the XOOPS Search Engine search box on your own website, where anyone who visits your site can use it. Paste this code in the page where you\'d like your search box to appear. The search results will be shown on a Google-hosted page.

<!-- Google CSE Search Box Begins -->

SmartProfile - extended profiles for XOOPS 2.0.16

The XOOPS 2.2 extended profiles were too good to give up, so Cusix Software decided to make a similar module for XOOPS 2.0.16.

Since I did not want to cut into the core, all functionality is enclosed in the module, which has now been handed over to SmartFactory for further development.

You can download SmartProfile here

SmartBlocks - Extended blocks management

I'll let you in on a little secret: I have never been a fan of the XOOPS 2.0.x blocks system.

The blocks themselves are ok, but why do I only get one of each that can be either visible or not?

With XOOPS 2.2 I changed that, but since that branch is no longer carried on, I decided that we needed similar functionality for XOOPS 2.0.x until XOOPS 2.4 hopefully makes it obsolete to think about these workarounds.

So here it is:
SmartBlocks, developed by Cusix Software based on the Flexblocks module from Fyens Stifstidende and - as the name implies - now handed over to the SmartFactory for further development.
