Xoops Facebook Module
A simple module to view your Facebook profile within your Xoops site through an < iframe >.

This module doesn't really do alot, it just < iframe >'s Facebook, but it is handy if you want to check your Facebook profile without leaving your site or if you want your site visitors to login to Facebook, but stay on your site at the same time.

Release of XOOPS 2.0.17.1 Final
The XOOPS development team is pleased to announce the release of XOOPS 2.0.17.1.
This is merely a bugfix release. Some main changes include:
- Bugfix for login problems with some IE browsers caused by session_regenerate_id on some PHP versions;
- Improvement on uploader mimetype check
Users who still suffer from login problem after implementing the patch are suggested to turn on custom session in system preferences, or set "enableRegenerateId" to FALSE in /kernel/session.php line #78.

Kaifulee.com celebrates its 3rd Anniversary
On the 13th of October, the Kaifu Student Network (Kaifulee.com) celebrated its 3rd anniversary and changed its name to 5Xue or "I Learn" with the domain name of http://www.5xue.com
The Kaifu Student Network was launched in 2004 by Dr. Kaifu Lee, The global vice-president of Google Inc. and the president of Google Greater China, he is a legend in the field of information technology and widely respected in Chinese academic circles.
The 5xue is now directed by Dr. Lee and a few other technical and respected educational experts, including the former president of Intel Greater China as well as a top expert in training English.
In 2004 the Kaifulee.com website was written by Dr. Lee using frontpage and then it was migrated to an ASP powered forum in 2005 by Dr. Zheng, who is now the R&D director of a top Chinese IT corporation.
In August 2006 D.J., known as phppp from the Xoops Content Management System, joined the web management team, first as a technical advisor then as the Technical Director on a voluntary base.
The first version of Xoops powered Kaifulee.com was launched in September 2006 by D.J. and his voluntary Chinese Xoops team.
Then in January 2007 D.J. went back to Beijing where he co-organized the international open source conference. From January to April, he built and led a voluntary team for Kaifulee.com's second upgrade.
Most of the technical volunteers were from the Xoops Chinese community.
The newer version of Kaifulee.com was launched in May 2007, with a couple of newly developed components, including a sophisticated user profile module, a flexible user credit module and a thoroughly integrated popular forum called Discuz with an improved theme engine.
The multi-user version of XPress was also improved during the development, which is the WordPress module for Xoops.
There are now more then 40 top professionals from varied fields and hundreds of volunteers, offering advice and help to young people and university students through this website.
On October 7th, 5xue.com welcomed its 300,000th member.

(8) Balls & A Box Band site running Xoops
After finally deciding on our name, logo, and many other things, I finally finished our theme. I based the theme off of one that I downloaded from BCOOL (MANY THANKS!), and this is what I came up with. Simple, yet effective. It also matches our official myspace page, which I thought was an accomplishment in itself. We all know how much of a pain in the rear that the myspace layouts can be.

Gumamela with Inca art pictures
Gumamela is a free open source template, I did a little modification so can be used with xoops. This xoops template is based on the gumamela free css templates, hope you like it, remember the left and right blocks are both under the left column. 
The template aim to those xoopers which want to use the simplicity of a css template but with the funcionality of xoops. I´m not an expert in css, so if you see a bloated css stylesheet please make the necessary changes as you need. Remember to change in the shuffler script the path to the images or put your own. Take a look in the theme code around the line 50 to this: ------------------------------------ ----------------------------------- That is the last picture in the script, it have to be in this way in order to display as a first one. Let´s say you want 004.jpg to show first in your front page, so change in the script 004.jpg as the last so the slideshow work properly.
