CVD's Video Tube v1.4 Released
Video Tube v1.4 addresses all reported defects and provides several enhancements including improved page navigation, submitter info added to Admin screens and addition of View By User feature. View By User effectively creates separate Video Tube pages for each submitter and an index listing page showing submitters along with their activity statistics. The listing page also provides arrowed links for sorting the list by any column in ascending or descending order.

Prof. Alan C. Moore and Richard Fontana joining XOOPS Advisory Board
We are happy to announce that Prof. Alan C. Moore from Kentucky State University and Richard Fontana from Red Hat will become newest members of our XOOPS Advisory Board, joining two current members: XOOPS' Founder - Onokazu and Justin Erenkrantz, President of Apache Software Foundation.
Needless to say, we are extremely excited to have these two individuals of such caliber joining our Advisory Board.

Alan C. Moore is a Professor at Kentucky State University where he teaches music and humanities. He was selected there as the Distinguished Professor for 2001-2002, and has served nine terms as President of the Faculty Senate. He has degrees in music theory and composition from Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University, Yale University, and the University of Iowa. His work in computer programming began in the 1960s and he has taught himself many computer languages. He has been programming with Delphi since the first version and has written numerous articles about it in various technical journals. He was contributing editor of Delphi Informant Magazine (writing the popular File|New column) until that journal stopped publication. He has written two books, "The Tomes of Delphi: Win 32 Multimedia Programming" and "The Tomes of Delphi: Basic 32-bit Communications Programming (with John Penman). Prof. Moore has been one of the leading forces behind Project JEDI, the most successful Open Source project in the Delphi community, and its director since 2002. Richard Fontana is a lawyer who specializes in free software/open source licensing issues and related copyright and patent matters. He currently works at Red Hat, Inc. Prior to joining Red Hat, Fontana worked at the Software Freedom Law Center, where he represented a number of FOSS projects and foundations. He is particularly known for work done on behalf of SFLC's client the Free Software Foundation; Fontana was, with Richard Stallman and Eben Moglen, one of the principal authors of version 3 of the GNU General Public License (GPLv3). Among his other clients at SFLC was the Sakai Foundation, which Fontana advised on matters relating to the Blackboard learning management systems patent.

One more site on xoops deployed!
One more site was deployed by me Moscow Rollers site of "Rechnoy vokzal", it not so fancy like previous MSTUCA (see previous news) I apologize in advance, it's only in Russian language for the time being, but soon I'll try to make it a multi-language GOOGLE Map location link - rollers place about. What this site for, just a fun site about rollers, roller trick, etc; for whom this? For rollers of course... Ok let see what is interesting here:

XCGal - Photo gallery (with some subcategories to store different types of photos)
WFDownloads - File archive (to store some materials, files, documentations, books, etc)
UserPage - without comments
XoopsPoll - questions for simple surveys, opinions etc

ExtCal - calendar to point special events
XMMemberstats - comments not needed
NewBBEx - Forum as it could be...
Contact - users to contact an Admin if there is no other way to contact ;)

+ some administrative modules like - XoopsInfo, Protector and altsys and tinyEditor...
So that's all about technical site... Here is small story on how this site was done ;)...
The site was recreated about 2-3 times (free hosting, you should know what does it mean
)... First time it was just simple as it could be - chat and forum and nothing els more cause nothing more was needed... then I started to think about creating something more... how a Russian Proverb says - "initiative is punishable ;) - which means "If you say that you can or could do it - then do it and then worry about it" something like that... so I've started to practice on local host (DENWER, then XAMPP - more adapted for hosting servers), about 2-3 weeks of headaches on local host; then about the same time to search for free hosting and free domain name, and here it comes first version of rollers site... it worked online about 2 month - and then the host died (Oh damn!!! :(( not now!!!) so that was not good, cause I had only very old back ups saved... it took me about a moth to recreate it and readapt for Russian language (thanks to XOOPS2.RU - Russian support)... so it looks now like this... that's all :) , a big-small story about my first fully deployed site on the web...
any opinions and corrections are appreciated... Thank you XOOPers! again and again...

It took too long (6-8 month) for me to finish it early, couse when i start it, there was was many thing to do and undo ;), and its still only avalible only on russian language, but if some one interested may use translate.google.com ore tranlslate.ru service to view it on preferred language...

XCGALLARY - photo gallery
eXtCal - for pointing some dates (students, teachers, enterprise, etc)
MYIFRAME - to point and seamlessly interact with a web site some outer resources
USERPAGE - each user can create a personal page about him self or anything else (authorized of course)
SITEMAP - without comments
CONTACT US - contact module to contact with a different departments via web form (with captcha of course)
XHLD0 - to import some aviation head lune news on site...
RSSFit - out of comments...
XMMEBERSTATS - who is online
DMS - for document management, currently disabled and turned off, cause it was not suitable enough...
SMARTFAQ - soon be applied and enabled to help users with the questions, "HOW to do ..."
so and a couple of administrative modules, to help being it managed more comfortable and securely...
Oh my, it was my longest, hardest, and most brain storming project for my university by me, cause some things did not work correctly, did not adapted for my needs, and so on... but I did it, but only with your help and support, VERY BIG THANKS TO YOU XOOPERS, if I had used other CMS for it, I think, i would lose a half of my brain...
