To celebrate its first anniversary, Xoops4Noobs.fr offers an update to its content and some news.
Updates
Several sections of the site have been updated:
• Learn Xoops : 4 articles on Xoops, the modules, the themes are updated
• Downloads : pdf new record, module myTabs of Trabis (currently 59 resources)
• Xoops Links: adding new sites Xoops (83 links including 29 offering Xoops themes)
• Contacts : adding new forms to transmit your info about Xoops
News
Two new entries:
• Themes Xoops : organized by "generation" of themes, screenshots provide an immediate glimpse of the theme. A demo link is available for each theme. To html integrators, a section "non Xoops" exposes free templates.
• RSS feeds : to learn quickly news of the Community Xoops (note: Xoops4Noobs.fr emits its own RSS) ...
Participation in Xoops4Noobs
• Comments : feedback from members are free, those "anonymous" are moderates.
• Notification : all resources can be alerts (email / private messaging)
• Poll : every month will be a made a theme...

Theme for personal and small businness sites
If you want to have a site with user registration, comments, forums, guestbook ect. but not seems like a portal, you can try this theme. It’s just like a html+flash site with a clean design. But as you see it includes all the advantages of a php portal site. This theme is created for a rock band web site. You can see it live at http://www.ikimusic.com

Sometimes php portals are not suitable for personal web pages, small bussines pages, music band pages. So we created this theme for a rock band from Turkey. It’s just like a html site but using the advantages of php for user registration, news, downloads and guestbook sections. The band can send email messages to the registred band and the fans can be notified automaticaly about new concerts, new albums or new downloads added to the site.

Dr. Usage - 1.54
This is a simple graphing system for system visits and usage, it will be extended further in the future but I hope you like this simple graph. You will need to add the block to the pages you want it to track the usage on.
With XOOPS Usage Graph you can follow the progress of your Xoops Usage with visits and click with this useful tool. This module requires the XOOPS Framework version of 1.35
This also tracks is integrity which should never drop below 100% unless you have some form of paranormal activities happening within your domain which in this graphs early stages of deployment we even noticed there was in our system.
This will display a graph over selectable range of hours which will show you the user usage of your system.
What's New
Well I have added an option so you can select over a period of weeks you can choose when it drops the records from the history. I have also added Filled Line Graphs and Bar graphs, as well as adding an option to turn off the block usage marking.

Technology Future Applications
Well Mamba has asked me to make an industrial strength version of the multixoops which I will be doing in my co-operatives ersity networks site, this will also need to include a complete policy management system which will also use this trawling method to ban people that cause system usage integrity issues.

The new version carries features like adding alt tag to IMG , align text etc ..

Xoops Birthday module version 2
Recently, a XOOPS user who runs and maintain an Army Veterans website asked for a module to remember their Killed in Action, as well as former friends who they served with and who have passed away.
This XOOPS user asked for some modifications on the Birthday module so that on the anniversary of their passing, a block on the main page shows some details on that soldier and a photograph.
I've agreed to do the modifications and here is the new version.
Before I give you a list of all the modifications, the module's code was completely rewritten so it requires PHP 5 and is NOT compatible at all with its previous versions (you've been warned).
Here is the list of changes brings to the module :
- Addition of a module's administration where you can show, edit and add birthdays
- You can add a description to each birthday
- You can select the text editor to use
- You can upload a picture to each birthday (pictures are automatically resized)
- Birthdays can be created for persons who are not users of your site
- Integration of the Xoops comments system
- Integrated to the Xoops search
- You can see a user's birthday (there is a specific page for this)
- You can see a list of all the birthdays and users.
- Now the module completely uses Smarty
- You can prohibit users to fill out their form (this is useful in case where you use the module to present other persons than those who use your site)
You can use it to wish the Happy Birthday to your users, but you can also use it for a Hall of Fame or Business Directory.

Elven Language Pack - Xoops 2.0.x
Manke tanya tuula? Mankoi naa lle sinome? This is a complete Xoops 2.0.x Elven Language pack, you can have your core language running in elven, for the complaint little elfie, this means for you new D'n'D site or some of the new games coming out you can have a site in it's original language set. This is a complete conversion of the main language files for the elven language you can enjoy your xoops in Elven. If you need a dictionary or a guide we can provide one to you please use our liaise form so you can continue to develop modules in elven.
I know I have travelled around and have noticed that people in some circles or another use this language to communicate and also have meetings in it.
I hope your magick and wicca circles as well as some gaming sites enjoy this language pack it is true to definitions. But I will tell you finding words for things like Authentication Key in elven was no not easy.
