Modules: Catads 1.53.3 RC1

This update fixes category permissions which are now respected by RSS, blocks, searches and the Xoops user-profile. SEO is also improved with dynamically generated meta tags.

The search form now correctly requires a key-word entry to minimise server load and a number of other minor issues have been addressed. These include some missing icons and an admin display problem with IE.

Unfortunately, despite my best efforts the URL re-writing feature still refuses to work, although I have retained the option in this RC, just in case someone wants to debug it!.

Changes:

- Blocks, RSS, search and profile all respect category permissions.
- Meta description tag and keywords are now generated dynamically.
- Admin ad-listing now shows the latest ads first by default.

getting the following error on istalling and updating

Also even after setting permissions not able to see catogeries in module main page or Submit page.
Also cannot access Module Preference
No module icon on left side of Admin panel.
Using Xoops 2.4.4
Is there anything wron that i am doing

Thx for reporting. The line is shown below:

This appears to be valid according to Smarty's code base:

http://www.smarty.net/manual/en/language.function.cycle.php

and I have seen this used before in Xoops modules.

I thought some of the quotes might be 'smart-quotes' which might cause a fussy Smarty compiler to choke, but it all checks out as ASCII.

Anyone else have this problem?

Could you ad in search block currency? Eg. price range x - x in [selectable] euro/dolar/etc?

@bjuti - You can search for price range, e.g. 100 - 300. but not in a specific currency. Maybe for a later version.

I am uploading another RC soon where selected currency is shown in Admin (not just 'Euros'). Also, search block menus will show sub-categories correctly.

Yes, Catads 1.53 is free. It is based on Catads 1.522 FINAL from TDM Xoops which is GPL.

At the time I downloaded it, TDM were also selling a paid-for classifieds module called 'TDMAds.1.0'.

'Catads Pro' by Instant Zero was a commercial module too, but I don't know if you can still get hold of it.

I posted Catads 1.53 RC2 today.

I think this is the most useable version up to date but this is still an RC so please continue to report any issues.

The main change is that sub-categories are now correctly grouped in the search screen and search block menus.

The display length of the title and description in listings can now be set as prefs, the selected currency is shown in admin and I have added CSS control for many of the page elements.

The CSS has changed a little so remember to clear your browser cache.
