eNewsletter is based on the popular evennews module. The main difference is the ability to subscribe to more than one newsletter.

Features include:

* Import existing xoops user accounts to one or more newsletters
* Add/update Newsletters
* Newsletter archives

Hi,

I intend to release some documentation for the module, until then I am happy to take questions.

I have only tried using the module on xoops 2.3 so that's the only one I can be sure of.

The module does not account for maximum email useage. But could be a future consideration.

Throttling of email messages is almost an essential feature in order for people hosted on shared servers to use the module. I hope you can add it soon.

One thing I'd also like to see added would be to be able to import users by Xoops group. For example, we have a group for club members, another for club officials, and so on. It would be nice to be able to send messages to specific groups.

'The main difference is the ability to subscribe to more than one newsletter'

I can't find any option to configure or subscribe to more newsletters. Can you explain how to achieve that Shiva?

Hi,

Yes. There are two ways to do this, the user can do this themself or the administrator can do it.

Admin mode
1. Click on "Subscriber details".
2. Then click on edit icon for one of the users
3. If you have already added one or more newsletters then you should be able to subscribe to each newsletters for that particular user using the radio buttons (yes/no).
4. Click on submit to save
* You can also see which subscribers are subscribed for a given newsletter. Click on Newsletters then click on "Subscribers" for a newsletter. You will see all the subscribers, and now you can click on edit to update the subscribers details and subscriptions.

Front end
1. Go to the following link: modules/enewsletter/index.php?action=subscribe
2. Input email address to retrieve details for a subscriber
2.1 If you are logged in and you are also a subscriber then it will auto retrieve your details.
3. Input/select/subscribe and then click on submit to save.

You can also see demo of the front end here:

Thank you Shiva, I managed to add some more newsletters to choose from after your explaination. Maybe you could try to make the admin options to choose from different newsletters more intuitive. I still find it confusing.

dear Shiva, is it possible to make the field username not required in order to make subscription allowed for our website visitors? and in this case we can put captcha code for more security

Hi,
Thank you for the last comment. Actually I cant think of a real purpose for the username field. So I could remove it altogether unless someone can think of a reason for keeping it?

hi Shiva, thank you again for your great work, I agree with you I dont find any necessity to keep the username, I think it's better to remove it, in this case the module will be more useful.
Have a nice day
