Return of the Jedi (Onokazu)

Posted by Mamba on 2008/4/28 15:00:00 (14694 reads) | Posted on XOOPS
We are extremely happy to announce that Onokazu, the Founder of XOOPS is returning to XOOPS

He will be joining us as the very first member of our newly established XOOPS Advisory Board!

The XOOPS Advisory Board will include respected and well known individuals, who will be helping us with strategic direction for XOOPS.

And we couldn't think of anybody more deserving to be the first member of the XOOPS Advisory Board than the Founder of XOOPS - Onokazu!

In his response to our invitation, Onokazu stated:

Quote:
You guys seem to be doing great recently, and I would like to help the project in any way I can if possible.

We strongly believe that no project can be truly successful without recognizing the role of past Founders, so this is a very happy time for us to get re-united with Onokazu.

Creating the XOOPS Advisory Board is just one of the many things that we are working on to make XOOPS the best CMS around, and with all of the XOOPS community members working together, we can certainly look forward to a very bright future for XOOPS.

May the Source be with you!!!

lol, I never really understand why you guys get so excited over Star Wars, personally I was always more of a Star Trek fan (**ducks and runs**).

Hi JVesey

Klingon, lol I'm not sure the term has international meaning though except to us stuck over in the UK. (I base that assumption on others I've spoken to around the world, who don't get the Klingon toilet humour).

well, that's another point of the Xoops Essence & Project Manifesto that becomes a reality. Good. Welcome Back. I would like to see Pred too over there, let's see...
Now, it's time to return back to action, finalizing together the 2.3 final release, so that the other points will become too a reality. Action !
Posted: 2008/4/29 2:29 • Updated: 2008/4/29 2:30
...
Xoops 2.3 and a first release of 3 was announced to be out the beginning of 2008. While waiting, we see people implementing XOOPS Cube Legacy stuff here and there which is not bad, but still a patchwork (without strategy and direction).

So, there's a New Xoops Advisory Board, inviting the founder to help define a new strategy and get a new direction, humm... Hope there will be less bureaucracy in the future!

Anyway, seems the bad gang dancing their asses Off... should take care now ^^

The exile is over! How long was it?...

Have Fun

I am all for the Star Wars thingy as well, if you want my opnion...

Oh, and of course, very happy to see the founder back as well.

Let's go back to work now!

Onokazu, you don't know me, but I know you by your reputation and past leadership.

News of your renewed interest in Xoops is like Christmas in April!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for returning to this project. With you having a hand in this project's future surely your presence will be a magnet to attract even more talent and leadership that has strayed away over the past many months.

Just knowing you're involved again in the Xoops Project relieves many concerns over the future of this outstanding open source project.

This development is HUGE! I hope all Xoops users will reach out with open arms to welcome Onokazu back to the project and show him the respect, welcoming atmosphere, and gratitude for his time to devote to this project.

Welcome Back, and Thanks for Coming Back!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome, but I just wanted to make one thing clear that I am not back
as a developer, but as one of the many advisory board members. I don't think the project would need me
as a developer anyway though , since phppp and other members of the dev team seem to be doing great
and the project back on track already.

You won't probably see me active, but I do always wish the project to be successful and am willing to help in any
way I can if possible. Thanks to all again and thanks to the project team for giving this opportunity..
