XOOPS EXM Available!

Click to see original Image in a new windowXOOPS EXM 2.0.16 is available to download at our downloads section(registration required). XOOPS EXM is only a graphical modification of the XOOPS administration section that enhances the interface visually for a nicer look and simpler usage.

The installation and configuration and/or updating is exactly the same as the oficial XOOPS version. In the same way has the same functionality and support for modules and themes which means it is 100% compatible with XOOPS 2.0.16 so don’t be afraid for that reason.

Here are some screenshots...

Something that really needs to be done at xoops. PLEASE improve the theme and remember that you do not have to make it be good, but also LOOK good. ;)

so what should we do? I already ugrade to 2.0.16, so just overwrite all in htdocs directory?
Published: 2006/11/26 18:49 • Updated: 2006/11/26 18:49
If you already upgrade to XOOPS 2.0.16 only you need to replace the files from htdocs. Remember, always do a backup before.

works like this are very good to promote xoops.
people always loot at interface in the first step.

edit:
i dont have this home page that you show here.
also i have this warning:
Warning: Smarty error: unable to read resource: "/modules/system/templates/admin/system_indexcp.html" in file /class/smarty/Smarty.class.php line 1095
Published: 2006/11/26 22:13 • Updated: 2006/11/26 23:04
do you have replaced the include folder files?

is important that the file "cp_functions.php" be replaced, also the system module must be replaced.

Today we change our XOOPS used version by EXM without problems and very easy. Only we have replaced the files with the htdocs content.
Published: 2006/11/26 23:27 • Updated: 2006/11/26 23:27
yes its an upload issue in system_indexcp.html
thank you now works fine.
also anyone who interested to using this nice hack plz mentioned 2 language files changed:
language/english/global.php
language/english/admin.php

so for other languages it must be changed.

Nice design, but doesn't function properly for me.

When I try to update the system module, it renames my system templates to "contact". The contact module I am using is Contact v1.6 by XOOPS IBDeeming. Also, there is no way for me to access the Contact module preferences, it takes me to the home page.

The Last Update date doesn't change to reflect the new date.

Other features seem to work well, haven't thoroughly tested.

i make a fresh installation of this and having blank page for my XOOPS root I have to put /index.php to view it. Why? Or did I do something wrong?

Very beautifull !!!

Is it possible to write a little tutorial on how this can be achieved?

Very, very nice !!

I think it would be better to have a separate package that contains only the admin graphical modification instead of a global XOOPS installation.

Is it possible to have english version of files !
It would be better for adoption.

It looks like Joomla (the last time I saw it) but it's really very beautiful.
Thanks for it.

Yes, it is BRILLIANT! But the real question is - how quickly can we have it in the core????

For me this will be the real test of how quickly are we able to adapt innovations from the community into the core development. Only this way can we move XOOPS forward!!!

Of course something like this may already be in mind for the future.

How should I understand it? Is something like this already at work? Is anybody already working on this? When can we expect it?

However, if this is only a thought/wish within the Core team, then why not take something like EXM and just use it?

My concern is with the "speed of innovation" - how can we accelerate it by utilizing XOOPS solutions from around the world?

so is there an english file of this??

very nice, slight error in one language define

languages/english/global.php
define('_MODULES','Módulos');

should be:
define('_MODULES','Modules');

I would hope so too! I truly hope that we won't have to deal with a "Not invented here" syndrome, and that the Core developers will actively look for cool ideas from the community and implement them.

So far the rate and the speed of adoption haven't been too impressive

Mamba - if you read the developers forum on SourceForge - you will see that the work on EXM (and others) may well be included in a later official release.

The new dev team are certainly keen on this... and you may notice that one of the key EXM people is also a XOOPS Core developer

"May" is not enough for me. If I would be on the Core team, and if I could make sure that EXM works and doesn't introduce any bugs, I would base 2.0.17 on EXM and fix all the bugs there. This would give as a GREAT Release.

We REALLY need to improve the "speed of adoption" of cool solutions from within the community. This also includes hacks like the Perfect DHTML HACK for Xoops

@gibaphp
I read your post here before it vanished into thin air, followed the link and installed 'your' version of exm / 2018 on my server.
Thank you my friend and thanks to all the collaborators on this work.
