XOOPS Team is pleased to announce the release of XOOPS 2.0.5.2. It includes important security related bug fixes that address cross site scripting vulnerability in the weblinks module reported recently therefore it is highly recommended that all users using the module upgrade to this version. All files are available for download here.

Changes
===============================
- Security fix in modules/mylinks/myheader.php
- Security fix in modules/mylinks/visit.php
- Security fix in modules/mylinks/admin/index.php

For users currently running 2.0.5.1, extract xoops-2.0.5.1-to-2.0.5.2.patch.zip or xoops-2.0.5.1-to-2.0.5.2.patch.tar.gz and just overwrite the old files with the new ones.

#We will be relesing 2.0.6 very soon which includes loads of bug fixes committed since the 2.0.5 release.

I was afraid you were gonna say that. :(

Some of the files affected in the 2.0.5 to 2.0.5.1 upgrade contain stuff like how many columns wide a text box is and such, which I have to edit to make the boxes work on 800 x 600 res screens without horizontal scrolling. It's beginning to be a real pain to have to hunt those down and re-edit them every six weeks or so.

Nevertheless, thanks for the upgrade. I'm sure it's worth the trouble!

I'm new to XOOPS, so forgive me if I'm covering ground already covered

I have a bunch of altered templates to suit the look and feel of what I'm after. More than just formatting changes, in some cases I've added or removed functions within the template itself. With the coming 2.0.6 release, what upgrade path is there for this? Is there a changelog against the templates? If this is the case, I know which ones I need to alter by hand, and which ones I can just 'copy' across ..

TIA guys

To Ace_Armstrong:
This is why we ALWAYS say to make a LOG er at least indication where have made change. If possible, don't make changes to core at all. And, there is never an upgrade from theme, so your changes won't be lost unless there comes a new structure...

Thanks for the hard work!

MLimburg, you can take a look at our web based cvs at
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/xoops/xoops2/

There you could visually see which lines have been changed on each update.
For example, the following page will show the changes made to system_reditect.html on 9/28/2003:
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py ... ct.html?r1=1.2&r2=1.3
