Spam is a problem. It is the result Internet criminals, yes, I said criminals, it is not just spam bots out there, there are real flesh and blood people scamming and stealing real money. Time to put these criminals where they belong.

Here is another tool to add to your spam arsenal.

I have been working with Knujon & Coldrain Technologies to come up with a way to report the spam that you are getting in your forums and blogs to them. Why?

Knujon focuses on the sites that spammers use to peddle their wares. So far, they has removed more than 30,000 sites affiliated with spammers. How will this stop spammers? If they can't sell their products, there's no point in spam.

Knujon collects spam analyzes it then work with law enforcement to shut down criminal's web sites.

If you are using CBB 3.08 or can e-mail a post directly out of the forum or blog, e-mail the post to forumjunk@coldrain.net (then delete it)There is no need to for IP Address or comments. They use many e-mail and posts to come up with a profile they can hand over to good guys.

This is not a silver bullet by any means, however, it is a great little tool you can use to help them, help us.

will that stop darcy spamming her end-user links in everybody's threads? lol

ie.https://xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=60794&forum=28&post_id=272217#forumpost272217

that would be considered spam by many. especially when mostly it's just a reply that has no bearing on the topic title.. consider it spam & off-topic.

how many times will she post

http://www.xoops.net.br/index.php?title=Talk:ModuleDevelopment

or

http://www.xoops.net.br/index.php?title=Category:ModuleDevelopment

in threads where people are asking for help, they aren't asking to be added to her list or anything..

peekay & debianus were the only 2 people offering an actual relevant reply in the thread above.

come on, it's getting tedious. no offense darcy, but it is annoying too. (and yes i know i'm annoying)

Darcy.
any chance you could do your promotions more like this:

here's a useful link that might help answer your problem.

The long URLs you paste in just mess up the forum layout. I always know when you've added a link coz I have to re-adjust the window size of my browser...

I use IE6 on a tablet pc and the long links just fold down to two lines breaking at the index.php?

As soon as SailJapan pointed it out, I realized it looked scrappy.

I err'd, I'm sorry...

I am glad it was pointed out.
The line lengths did not cause me a problem.
