i'm using Catads module on my site http://www.24net.gr

I think this is a great module.

i want to ask: is there any new module version or update? I'm using Catads v1.4.
the release day is 20/7/2005 and i i think that Cat (the author of the module)maybe have or planning something new.

that's a different module, not an updated version of catads btw...just so you know...

I would love to see an upgrade to this module as well...and I am willing to chip in with others to pay for it! The features I would most like to see are:

1. thumbnail display beside each listed ad
2. multi-page navigation at the bottom of the page
3. ability to separate commercial/from non-commerical sellers
4. a "my ads" page, where ads are listed with thumbnails...sort of like your own mini-store...i know your ads are already listed on your profile page, but this would keep these results separate, so if you are selling alot of things, you can say, hey check out my "my store" page.

An example of a site that I would like to emulate is:

I also have a minor feature request. Allow users to modify Duration of posted ads and change status for expired ads.

I'd really like to see this module develop, as I feel that if done properly, it could bring in loads of new traffic to your site.

Anyone else interested in creating a "bounty" for implementing the features described in this thread? I will kick in $25 USD on my part...I am sure that we can get enough users to make similar contributions so that it is worthwhile for someone to pick this project up...if you are interested in seeing catads develop, please indicate so in this post, and commit some money if possible! :)

Once we have a significant amount of interest, we will work out how to pay the developer through their PayPal module etc.

Bit confused by Hervet's post... did he mean that the programmer could update it and didn't have time just now... or not?

No more features than CatAds, but you might want to try Classified Ads. Only one picture per ad (at present) but users can enter 4.99 or 2,500.00 instead of just whole integer numbers. More natural IMHO.

Apparently the coder of Catads is currently unavailable due to personal reasons.

I have had an XOOPS developer contact me about this... they can add in at least some of the features we want...but of course they would like to be compensated, as should be expected for this amount of work... is anyone else willing to pitch in a donation for this project to get it started? :)
