I have just taken the 'NewBB1 to NEwBB2 plunge', and can I first say that it truely rocks' n rolls! I tinkered with it when it was in Beta and got rid because I did a few things wrong and messed things up, but the final release is fantastic.

However, I've noticed that my scrolling menus work fine with FireFox 1.0, but not on IE? I've checked that
<{$xoops_module_header}>
is present between my head tags in my theme and it is both present and in the correct place.

I've looked at the posts here and the SmartFAQ section here. Neither tell me anything I don't already know. Can anyone help? Is this an IE issue (I assume it is) and how can I fix it, seeing as 80% of my visitors are IE.

Thanks

Ted

Do you experience the same problem here (xoops.org)?

I wondered if the SP2 was blocking pop-ups, but it still happens even when I turn that off.

Could someone visit my site with IE and tell me if the menus' popup for them? If so, it may just be my IE settings.

Thanks

Your menus work for me in IE 6, but only if I lower IE's security settings.

I normally have IE's Internet zone set to the "high" security level. The menus worked when I lowered it to "medium", which is the level I use for the Trusted Sites zone.

Thanks Dave_L. I tried the same, but still no joy for me. I lowered it right to 'Accept All Cookies' and even added my site as a trusted site, and they still don't work. Perhaps I should consider PMing Predator - he might know.

It sounds like you're talking about the cookie settings in Tools >> Internet Options >> Privacy.

I was referring to the settings in Tools >> Internet Options >> Security.

The menus shouldn't have anything to do with cookies.

Well spotted, but when I went to check that out it was already set as 'Low', and it still doesn't work.

I'm a little worried that I'm gonna have to tell all my users that to use my site they have to do x, y and z, which I'd rather not have to do. I'm hoping this is just something daft that I have missed.

First sorry for delay, just saw this...

Using IE 6 with WINXP SP2 to viewhttp://www.lost-doggies.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?post_id=79&topic_id=36#forumpost79 i have no probs with your site ( except maybe you can change the dropdown menu colors to fit more with your nice theme ) so the issue is to your browser i guess, the menu is using HTC means you must have javascript enabled ( or to install if you donĀ“t have ) this is the only solution in my eyes for you, did some others of your users reported this problem that you have?

Happy new year
