hi all, i just installed 2.3 im a first time user of xoops, im familiar with phpnuke. anyways I nor anyone else can creat a user account. i did some reading in the forums and it sounds like i dont have the permisions right for the profile block or something like that. i looked thru the options, nothing jumped out at me as wrong. any help in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I just tried to register and it looks like you have some sort of path issue, when you click the submit button to register onec all details have been filled out it directs to http://modules/profile/register.php

check mainfile.php and see what the path to your site is, it could be some issue with your host/server as you also have 3 slashes /// in your url http://soldiers.ifastnet.com///modules/profile/register.php

which probably shouldnt be there.

yea i noticed that too, im not sure whats up with that. i been looking around to try and fix the link, will check the mainfile. i couldnt find anything, i deleted the install and am tryin a newer version.

not sure what was wrong but it deffinatly had something screwy all the paths seem fine now, i uninstalled and installed the newest version manually. the previous was a server side auto install script.
all is well now, thanks for taking the time to help.

One question : we have now 2.5 rc2, and we have 2.4.5. stable version, so why you still using 2.3?

It was from an auto-installer on his server.
The problem was corrected by installing a newer version.
2.4.5?
Do not recommend or use 2.5.0 RCx!
Wait for 2.5.0 Final.
