Hi,

Anybody had any luck implementing GFC to xoops? I was wondering if it's possible to set comments and ratings gadgets depending on item id (like newtopic.php?forum=7 comments are diff from newtopic.php?forum=101)?

I checked out the Google friend connect and it is really cool.
Instead of trying to develop yogurt we should write a plugin to connect XOOPS wit XOOPS friend connect. Some CMS already has it: http://www.google.com/friendconnect/a ... 2006476620588434&hl=en_US

Using this we could easly forget about the Yogurt Module and enjoy the real social network.

The question to developers of xoops, if somebody could write if we have chance to get it.

I don't really understand why nobody cept pablo found this topic deserving attention, but I finally managed to do what I wanted and you can check out the result here: http://www.freelancersupport.com/modu ... rofile/userinfo.php?uid=1

this is my profile within my website commented and rated via GFC services. Now anybody can comment any other user on his profile page and it wont be messed up.

Sometimes people are just too busy! That happens, so don't take it personally, if you don't get answers or feedback right away.

But congratulations on making it work. This is really cool!!

Could you share how this has been done? I think, it would be an excellent article to write.

Thanks Mamba. Well it was pretty easy actually. First go to www.google.com/friendconnect/ and register your website there. Upload two given files via FTP and choose a gadget you want to use. As in regard to showing diff comments/ratings on different pages (whether on diff profiles like I did or maybe diff items in your catads module) you should choose "ID" when creating the specific gadget code via GFC and put tags identifying your item like <{$user_uid}> in my case in the ID text box. And this is it I guess. So the main trick is to use <{$something}> as the ID.

Ok, this is just a system comment integration, i have tested a drupal plugin for google friend connect. It s really cool! XOOPS is a hundred years ahead. As Mamba mentioned, nobody has a time, very fev developers...waste if time.

i wish to convert may website into drupal which comunity is massive and the numbers of modules and plugins unlimited. Crazy! In the meantime we have stucked with primitive XOOPS here...
