#1 Posted on: 2006/12/25 19:16 XOOPS EXM 2.0.16 just ROCKS!!!!
If you haven't see it yet, the XOOPS EXM 2.0.16 from XOOPS Mexico is simply fantastic:

http://www.xoopsmexico.net/modules/news/article.php?storyid=16

The Admin section is totally cool, and gives a feel similar to Joomla.

The question is: how could we make it a standard in the main XOOPS releases? Who can address it with the Core team (i.e. with Skalpa and others)?

i agree
Moreover, it's a fact that xoops mexico often provides xoops community innovative contributions : themes, rmd modules, etc.
and we don't speak about them sufficiently !
marco

nb i have already talked about that with skalpa,he's currently taking a quick break.

Agree also and other then maybe newbees saying don't understand it; to me it did seem very straight forward....

Bit more Resources used, hadn't checked the code that much, yet since admin hasn't Smarty, it will be a bit more loading, yet not much...

Anything to make Admin easier and straight forward for end users is a good thing...so then we have less "how too install or basic question of Xoops admin..."

Which PLEASE do NOT say is getting like Joomla!!!

We like to understand our admin as me and Bandit-X were discussing....its all very well Joomla, does this Joomla, does that.....Yet can you find it in Joomla's admin without follow a "thier" laid out planned approach to what you must do...

Xoops admin was one of the reason I choose Xoops to begin and not Mambo/Joomla (= same thing) as after giving friends a web site with Joomla's admin they gave up...Xoops they don't!

I just tried the RMSOFT Bulletin that they said has been "proven widely in Xoops 2.016 and is ready for integration with EXM." Nothing but white screens on all the admin pages. I am running 2.0.16.

Sad, since SmartMail is still not working for me / still being tested. I can't wait for the official functional release. The pre-release looks promising.

You need PHP5 and the RMSOFT Common Utilities. Did you install them? For me worked as advertised. I was actually very impressed with the RMSOFT Bulletin as it should help to produce cool newsletters.

The SmartMail worked for me as well, but I'll have to find way to spice it up. Right now it took the Blocks, but it was very plain, so I would have to modify the templates. I'll have to find out if I need to do for every module, or just once for the SmartMail newsletter.

Right; xoopsmexico's works are very interesting and the changes in module administration are fresh air.
I think that xoopsmexico and xoopsbrasil could have more attention in teams but I do not know if there are contacts about this.
