#1 Posted on: 2004/3/11 22:37 How to make the Logo's background transparent?
Hello..
I want to know how to make the background of a Logo to become transparent.

The Logo file is either in .jpg or .gif format.

It doesn't look nice when my homepage's background is dark while the Logo's background is white in colour or either way.

besides repaint the Logo's background to match the current homepage colour using certain tool.

Is it possible to make it transparent, so that it matches with any theme without have to repaint it?

no.. unfortunately the only way to do it is by using an imaging package such as paint shop pro or photoshop etc..

in PSP >

1. open the image.
2. in the colours menu select "set pallete transparency"
3. set your transparency setting.
4. in colours menu select "view pallete transparency"
5. go back to the image and select the eraser tool.
6. zoom in and then use the eraser to erase all the outer parts of the image u want transparent.. then save as a .gif

hope this helps

you can even use MS-Paint.

START->Programs->accessories on most windows pcs.

open your logo

save it as a .gif(if it is not already)

then click IMAGE->Attributes

Check the transparency checkbox and select the color(background of picture) you want to be transparent.
if the background isnt that color, use the fill tool or any of the draing tools. wherever in the gif is the color you selected, it will be transparent

save it

Upload

refresh your browser

cheers
