I picked up this module a few days ago and have just completed modifications XOOPS 2.4.5. I should be able to release a BETA release by the end of the week...

It'll be BETA due to the following reasons:
- I've only tested it on the Paypal sandbox
- The french translation is incomplete
- There's a few new features that I want/need verified by having 'others' looking at it before I consider it good-enough.
- BETA means that the features are 'locked', only bug fixes will be addressed before this release.

There's a 'list' of other things that should be done to the module but I'll wait to see if there's enough interest in the module before further effort.

That's great news zyspec.

If you can post a 'Blue Move Tip' elaborating a little on anything you have changed that stopped it from working in 2.4, for example the 'common.php' issue, it would be really appreciated.

ghia's right
- all that really needs to be done is to change the Xoops logger instantiation as stated in the thread ghia references above. Although I really don't see the need to use the 'reduced' common.php file included with xdonations any longer...

Peekay,

I'm not sure the logger error really warrants a specific 'Blue Move Tip' because all that's really happened is that the core team 'moved' the logger function a few revisions ago and now the 'deprecated' message has been removed too. What would really help is if the core devs documented two things:
- every function they deprecate when a new release is made (along with a preferred replacement example)
- every function 'removed' (previously deprecated)

I totally agree with that.

Can anyone on the core team rise to that challenge and post something in the Blue Move forum that covers the last few Xoops versions?

That's a reasonable request. I hope, we can have it in 2.5.0...

I've entered it to SourceForge requests.

ghia does the fix you recommend make the mod auto add the user to the appointed user group; right now that does not work and its other features don't work; basically what works is it linking to the paypal page

My fix is referring post #6 and is valid for all modules that use the nocommon feature.
This core incompatibility is listed in the bug tracker.
I don't know much about xDonations.
