Making all blocks fill the page

I have noticed almost all XOOPS themes have a structure with space on the right and left hand side. How can I reduce this space or eliminate it?

Sorry if this has been posted before, couldn't find an answer.

I believe turning all the display blocks off on the right side you get away from that extra space look.
