#1 Posted on: 2010/4/19 11:06 Xoops News to Mywords - Migration script
Hi
I created a migration script that will pass all your news articles and categories into myWords.

Download

Usage:
- Make sure you don't have any posts or categories created in mywords.
- Upload file updater.php to xoopssite/modules/news
- type in webbrowser:
http://xoopssite/modules/news/updater.php

and that should do it!
This is a very simple script so it doesn't have any configuration options.

Should I do some more scripts for other modules?

Great! Try to make script for smartsection/publisher and articles, and why not AMS.

For future sake: What about reversed converting, from eg. MyWords to News :)

One script to convert 'em all! :D

(with possible gui) :)

the script if it works, but does not convert the links in "ñ" -> "n" or "á" -> "a", "ó" -> "o", etc. .... (and links becomes uppercase not lowercase) (if not given those parameters generated links date and name, generate link errors)

I've double checked my test server. My script keeps all formating intact. It does not change any of the original content.

This might have something to do with the mysql encoding.
What collation are you using for mysql tables?

It could also have to do with the page encoding of your xoops site.

mysql: utf8_general_ci
site: UTF-8
xoops: 2.44

example:
title news: Soñar al Día --> title mywords: Soñar al Día
generated to create url mywords:/01/01/2010/sonar-al-dia/
url generated by migration script -> /01/01/2010/Soñar-al-Día/
