I prefer to keep my sites focused with the forums as the highlight, not the buttons.

Soo...I'd like to have buttons that are in step with the theme, especially with color and size.

Buttons that glare out at you are amateurish looking at best, and take away from a professional site appearance.

The green buttons are fine with a green site, if there are other graphic elements with similar size, text, color, and overall theme views. I definitely think the green buttons and the big blue buttons look out of place on this site.

The little envelopes are fine, because they're low-keyed and don't jump out at user when they view the boards.

Where do you acquire graphic components for changing the way the NEWBB2 looks. The green buttons along with the non-conforming graphics makes it look a little amateurish for me.

Has anyone produced gif or other graphics for the newbb2? If so where can I find them?

Thought I'd update my multi-menu. I understand there is a 1.6 or higher revision out now. I'm still using 1.2 or 1.3 as I recall.

I could use a link or address

Thanks

I've got 7 CDs of digital photos 1280 x 960 that I need to upload on a site I'm working.

First, they're too big, but there are so many I need some kind of batch tool. Color needs to optimize for the web, no sense having 32bit color in a 216 color enviroment.

I've looked around and dl a few, but I thought I'd ask. The ones I've found aren't too good (freeware), but there may be a really good one out there I've not found.

This is probably a one time project...I got talked into it, because the site is just Sloooowwww beyond belief with the non-optimized jpgs.

The more automatic the tool is the better. These CDs have a co-zillion pics on each disk. LOL

I'd appreciate any suggestions or links

Xoops port to Coppermine Gallery any late news

I noticed the XOOPS mod to Coppermine is for a much older version than is currently available at Coppermine site.

I've got a site where the Coppermine is needed, but I'm reluctant to use the older version of coppermine. It would be nice to use XOOPS ported to it, for continuity in the theme and one registration.

Currently 1.3.2 coppermine is out and stable. The ported version is 1.1.x.

One thing of particular note:

The changes in the downloads module with a graphic picture in the themes section is OUTSTANDING. Now you can see the themes deigns in color and well sized.

This is so much better than demo links. It was very frutrating, because so many of the links were bad after the themes had been up for download more than a couple of months.

One outstanding thing like this feature within a website can make or break a good website. These are the kinds of things we need.

Again, congratulations

I think you've answered my questions... LOL

The client wants to use ASP, because they are some kind of "Microsoft partner" and open-source anything is out of the question.

I can put up an IIS server on my machine, build and maintain the site. I guess I'll have to find a hosting arrangement/server that'll fit their requirement.

If I were selling webhosting right now I'd probably do what I'm doing, rent a rackspace server and spend my time on what I do best. Server maintenance probably wouldn't be that hard, but it would require more time. Also, I'd probably have to babysit the server all the time... LOL

Thanks for your response.

Just wondering if my ADSL has bandwidth for acting as webserver.

---------------------------------
2004-10-05 13:10:11 EST: 1272 / 210
Your download speed : 1303522 bps, or 1272 kbps.
A 159.1 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 215679 bps, or 210 kbps.
---------------------------------

I talked with SBC DSL rep and she said I could get double my current speed for another $10 per month. Heck, I'm paying $100 for a PHP webserver now, which has 9 client sites on it. The price isn't bad, but now I've got a client that wants ASP stuff as well. The webhost wants another $80 to host the windows server. He's gotta supply software that is payware so...

Anyway, I just thought I'd ask if anyone has had any luck being their own webserver on ADSL. Better still, if you've upgraded your ADSL for improved bandwidth.
