I just uploaded the latest version of x-movie and I think I finally got all the problems I found resolved. If you find any issues let me know. You can download the module here...

xsell - an update on x-movie. I'm almost finished with updating the module. While testing last night I found out the RSS feed was not working so I'm trying to figure out why. Also as an after thought I decided to add to the import/export tool the ability to import and export the categories. This will make it easier to import movies to the correct category. Importing and Exporting videos is working very nicely and when tested with 120 movies worked very well and quick.

wcrwcr - ffmpeg is also working on movies that are local. This includes urls and uploaded movies. You still need to have ffmpeg and ffmpeg-php installed and enabled for this to work. The module will let you know if you don't. Also It wont grab frames from external movies. But most external movies already have thumbnails, or should, and in FF it's simple to just right click the image and choose "Copy Image Location" then paste it as a URL. X Movie will copy this image locally as long as the directory it's copying to is writable.

Unfortunately there's some development work I need to do for my job so working on this modules is taking a little more time then I thought. But it should be ready by the end of the week.

xsell - That comment comes from XOOPS core. It's probably an option that you can set for comments and who is allow to post and who to read.

wcrwcr - I just installed ffmpeg on my server. I will see about integrating this feature into x_movie. But in order to use it your server must have ffmpeg installed. I will put in code to check for this also.

The thumbnail creation doesn't take much process power... processing the movie file so you can capture a frame does. Now imaging if you are on a shared host and other websites are doing the same thing.

I thought about doing that at one time, but then realized my dedicated server at the time would have required me to compile fmpg from source because the distro i had didn't have an rpm. It also uses a lot of cpu so most service providers don't give this as an option.

xsell yes I already have banner ads that allow you to link to other sites in an x_movies version I'm running on another site... not through HTML but through a select box. Of course you must upload your banners in order for them to appear in the list. However I have not put this update out yet because I'm planning to add another feature, mainly for myself to mass add movies instead of doing it one by one, that I just haven't had time add. But he mentioned not having a flash player. You don't need flash to enable download and that would be kind of overkill when html will do the trick with less load on the browser.

I can add an option to x_movie so that it will allow you to let people download movies on the local server. I just finished my cloud tag module so I have some time. There is actually a newer version of the x_movie module running on one of my sites but I haven't put it out yet because of some fixes I hadn't had time to fix and also I had been wanting to add the ability to do a mass insert of movies using a comma delimited format.

wrecked: I didn't understand what you meant about plugin. If you are referring to x_movie not playing swf and flv files, my version of x_movie does play these files. Here are a couple of examples...

If you were referring to something else please let me know.

They way you get the next and previous button to work is all the images have to have the rel="lightbox[somename]" attribute. They should also be on the same page. If you want to display text, you should put it in the title attribute... like title="your text goes here". You can look at the source from my module to get an idea of what I mean here...http://www.optikool.com/modules/gallery/?file=HIN/ . Hope that helps.

Hi Mowaffak,

Thanks for sending me the rss file. I couldn't understand how it was able to work. I ended up creating a new rss feed called x_movie_rss.php and x_movie_rss.html and added it to the updated version of x_movie I work on. You can download and test it here...http://www.optikool.com/modules/mydownloads/viewcat.php?cid=2 and you can see and example here...http://www.optikool.com/modules/x_movie/x_movie_rss.php?cid=
