Great suggestions already from everybody!

I would like to add a suggestion for a new core module. I believe that a newsletter module should be added as a core content related module. There should be content hooks for the core modules: news, links, newbb, faq, members, etc. These hooks should tell XOOPS to "place this content, in this location, representing this timeframe".

Thus once you set you your newsletter template, it can be automagically generated by the system and sent out to members who have elected to receive the newsletter.

Also, people should be able to sign up for the newsletter but not membership.

Thanks for listening!

Later,

Dan

These are great resources Herko...thanks for the link. I'm going to study this closer and see if I can hack something.

For me, the two most needed modules are:

1) A newsletter module with content hooks to news, forums, wf-sections, FAQ, etc. That would automagically generate a newsletter using a pseudo-CRON or something and send it out.

2) Subscription module.

Then XOOPS would be complete ... for me!

#286644 Posted on: 2003/11/9 13:51 Converting a site to Xoops
Hello
I have a regular web site that has a lot of html and some php pages. Is there a way to bring this site under Xoops? I would like to keep the directory layout that I have and not have to import all documents to a single directory.

Is this possible in a simple automated way or do I have to manually import each page?

Thanks

#286648 Posted on: 2003/11/9 12:56 Re: News: Wrong Date... Post Date vs. Publish Date?
This has been fixed on CVS to always display the published date.

modules/news/article.php

$story['posttime'] = formatTimestamp($article->created());

to

$story['posttime'] = formatTimestamp($article->published());
