Carnuke,

If it fouls up? what do you suggest? write some documentation and we will tell you..

Or perhaps you and savana could go to Scotland and shoot all the haggis just before the season starts..

Thanks djsckizo, I just tried that one a few minutes ago and it WORKED ! Man, am I glad. I cut the 2Mb .sql file in three pieces.
Don't know where there is a restriction, in MySQL or in the win2000 system, but it was sure a misleading error message that I got from Mysql.
Anyway thanks for your replies, problem solved

"XF-Sections is WF-Section with bugfixes and nothing more. So how can you say that one has one thing but the other doesn't?"

Yes, excuse me for getting xfsections, wfsection, and wfchannels confused. The fact is, it is a bit confusing.

I'm just going by notes I jotted down while trying to run all of these at the same time and still keep track of which blocks were generated by which modules.

Well you could always do it the long way around if you had to and sql parts of it until you finally get it all in there.

How will this new version adapt to existing content written in the previous version? I have over 400 articles in wfsections 1.0.1. Too much input to lose if the update fouls up!

What do you suggest?

I used export option, selected all the tables, choose to dump it as txt with extension sql
structure and data
With structure I have also the options : Add AUTO_INCREMENT value and : Enclose table and field names with backquotes
I will try also with the drop tables option.

Strange (to me) is that it worked all the time, and now it doesn't, I've compared the .sql files that work and don't work but can't see a difference.
(Could the size be a problem on my local system?) Now the size is > 2 Mb.

I tried also earlyer gzipped files, but that never worked on my local site

Ps : Thnx for your answer

Aloha

Try 0.9.1 if you like. It now seems to coexist with News, except that if you use both alternately, the comments tracking (how many comments per story) will probably get out of sync, at least in the News module. Like I said, it was designed to replace the News module, not coexist with it, but now at least it won't overwrite any existing tables if you want to install both at the same time.

Ok, they didn't ask me but they could have. Any time I set up a public area, users are always able to upload pictures to be shown publically without being checked by me first. I set it so they have to be approved first but that doesn't help. Any idea of why it might do that?
