If I were to change servers, take all the files off of one server and move all them to the other server, what exactly would I have to change in what files to get it up and running on the new server? Do I have to change the paths or anything?

Access denied for user: 'silentalli@localhost' to database 'silentalliance_org_-_babstats'

i know i have set up everything right. is this a compatibility issue?

i am using php 4.3.3
mysql 3.23.58

dont know what to do? any help would be apreciated. I have all passwords and everything matching even deleted the database to start over and reconfigured the config.php file the way it was supposed to be but when i go to site.http://www.silentalliance.org it gives me message that access is denied

Give it 24 hours and see if it shows up. Also set the update to hourly, sometimes that helps speed up the process.

I have noticed from time to time that depending on the feed, it will go up and down once in a while.

this happens sometimes on my site, when the service provider does a daily backup of the databases.. for a few mins the database is unavailable..

they continually monitor our site and do backups at optimum times based on our access logs so they don't backup at busy times of the day..

How about adding the ability to re-order Forums, not just Categories?

It was stated quite some time ago that other forum mods will not likely be added to the core (such as phpbb, yabbse, IPB, etc.) As great as these mods are, they would not reflect XOOPS as being original, from a core developers standpoint. The core team feels that using other development teams models would take away from the uniqueness of Xoops.

That being said, it doesn't mean that people outside of the core team will stop making modules of this type to give to the community at large.

Not very many details have been given about what new features the newbb will have but based on what I have seen, the core team has not only listened, they are close to releasing a very feature rich and easier to use forum to include with the core.

I hope the Invision Power Board Module (IPBM) by Koudanshi (here)will become integrated into the core. It fits the bill perfectly, at least for my needs - a highly configurable and feature-rich forum.

Marc-André:

As a francophone you'll find more useful the following contribution by theCat:

Classes de formulaires

In fact, this site has several excellent resources for module writers and xoopsers interested in digging behind the curtains of our favorite CMS.

Cheers.
