I am working on an import script to move events from eCal to piCal (70% done).

If anyone is interested in this script then please let me know.

Thanks,
Marius

Yup! thats the hack.

The staying logged in is always a gripe for anyone using Xoops. I don't know why they don't implement it default or use some other way of keeping you logged in.

Hopefully the devs will get with it on the next update and make it default. Seems to be enough "hoops" to jump through at first for new users of XOOPS to have to tackle going in and hacking core files. Not to mention everytime you apply an update... you have to go in and redo it again.

Im looking for something that can easily be configured yet looks nice and not too simple. I would also prefer something you can simply upload images via your browser.

This would make it easier for clients to upload this way rather than ftp. Because as you know some clients can be dunces when it comes to a task like that.

I also want some with thumbnails.....
Your suggestions will be quite helpful.

Debates ... I love them!

The way I see this is pretty simple.

You either support the XOOPS project or you don't.
If you do and you have a REQUEST or perhaps a SUGGESTION on how to improve an XOOPS module in YOUR opinion, then I think thats great :)

Now, if you are on the flip side of this and would rather use a non XOOPS system/module, then do so. I really feel it is somewhat insulting to suggest intergrading such a thing when XOOPS has been built and prided on originality!

Xoops is such a strong system with a really devoted team behind it all, who would love nothing more then to hear suggestions on how things can be made better for the community. Simply put ask and you shall receive, but please don't underestimate this team by not even having the respect to suggest an upgrade or modification before assuming "Why bother just intergrade this".

Ahem ... and thats my two cents ... well maybe that was about 10 :)

Thanks, Danni :)

I cant agree with you more stewdio....
I think XOOPS is original and quite excellent as is without incorporating yet another third party solution.

I once was a heavy user of Yabbse, Yapp, PfaBB, Yabb, Mamboserver...
And I turned to XOOPS for an all out better solution.
Indeed XOOPS has some more advancing to do but overall I feel it has a nice clean professional look and the Control Panel Intergration is excellent. I prefer it 2 to 1 over any other. Matter of fact right now im configuring 4 sites for clients and they all are running XOOPS with custom templates.

A forum is just a mere fraction of a site.
My support and loyalty belongs to Xoops!

I love XOOPS and everything - but I just have this one -annoying- problem...

-I can't stay logged in-

I can stay logged in for as long as the browser's open.. but the moment it's closed.. poof.. I need to log-in again. How can I make it similar to other popular CMS's where you can actually stay logged in?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I am looking through the mainfile.php file and everything is right and I have the database created with the correct password and username and everything, yet I get a blank screen whenever I try and get onto my site. I have NO IDEA how to debug anything on this and the wiki was no help...

Any assistance please?

change the mainfile.php in the root.

things you might need to change:
absolute path to files
database username/password
database name (as opposed to table names which should not change)

I believe all of these are stored in the mainfile.php. Don't think there are any records in the db that might need to be updated, but someone can correct me on that.
