I did - got that part working. :)

Problem is I still don't see how/where you can put in Sub-Categories. I only see Main Categories and Topics.

I run several projects and need to setup each Project as a Main Category and then the various aspects (Installation, Playing, etc) as SubCategories and THEN be able to put topics under that.

My site have been in trouble for several days..

sometime it says that:
"The page cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings.... "(not 404)

but at the sametime another XOOPS in the subfolder use the same database works fine. and the php checker in the root folder also works.

Today the host told me that my site makes the cpu usage up to 100%

I just have two hacks in my site one is show the rank images in the topposter block.
another is make the larger images auto fit the table.

Will these cost so many resource?

Wellwine has a discussion area on his site.

You can find it at:http://wellwine.net/

Enjoy!

Show "recent files" of every category in mydownloads

Hi everybody!

I'm looking for a way to show the files of parent categories in the mydownloads module. In this module the page "index.php" gives a list of "recent files" from all categories. I want the same thing for empty parent categories that only have subcategories.

Example: the index page shows all categories and a list of "recent files". If you click on a category "sports" with no subcategory in it, files from the category will be listed. If the category "sports" has subcategories, lets say football and tennis, the files from these subcategories will not be shown in "sports".

I've been looking around in "viewcat.php", the page that generates categories. At around line 100 I changed the following:

if($numrows>0){

to

if($numrows>=0){

Otherwise "show_links" won't be set to true if you have subcategories, so that your links won't be shown.

Then I wanted to edit this string around line 120:
$q "SELECT d.lid, d.title, d.url, d.homepage, d.version, d.size, d.platform, d.logourl, d.status, d.date, d.hits, d.rating, d.votes, d.comments, t.description FROM ".$xoopsDB->prefix("mydownloads_downloads")." d, ".$xoopsDB->prefix("mydownloads_text")." t WHERE cid=".$cid." AND d.status>0 AND d.lid=t.lid ORDER BY ".$orderby."";

If I understand correctly, this string will only show what's in the current category, but will not know anything about any subcategories, because these are defined in "mydownloads_cat" and this record isn't being called. But how can I make XOOPS look in subcategories?

As I don't know too much about mysql, I'd like to ask a friendly fellow xoopser to help me a bit.

Thanks in advance...

Greets!

Shoulda thought of that!

Only thing is that I get a blank screen when I try and access the Module. I think I remember reading something about that around here some place.

Let me see if I can relocate that.

I like it and use it on my site athttp://www.jonathanspencer.net

However, I would like a way to abbreviate the entries. so you got the taste of an article with a "read more" link if necessary thus making the entry page more compact if needed.

Could also do with soemthing that made it more inviting for people to register. Like they could see the latest blog block but not the whole blog.

would also like the category list to be available as a block as well as /istead of at the top of the blog main page.

But is in action, easy to install, easy to work...I like it.
