Re: Can the News Module display less than 5 topics?

Yes it is possible.

find $modversion['config'][1]['options'] = array('5' => 5, '10' => 10, '15' => 15, '20' => 20, '25' => 25, '30' => 30); in modules/news/xoops_version.php and change it to

$modversion['config'][1]['options'] = array('1' => 1, '5' => 5, '10' => 10, '15' => 15, '20' => 20, '25' => 25, '30' => 30);
or whatever number you want to display.

Upload the file and update the module. You should now be able to select the number in news module preferences.

Re: how do you like this theme ?

beautiful... and not a <table> <tr> or <td> tag in sight.

Nice.

Re: new theme will not show for all users

1. Set your site's theme in System -> Preferences -> General Settings : Default Theme

2. Make sure your desired theme is the only selected theme in System -> Preferences -> General Settings : Selectable Themes

#1 takes care of new users and anonymous users browsing your site, #2 takes care of existing users that registered while your old theme was in use.

Wow! Thanks for the prompt reply. I want it so that users cannot choose a theme. I would like to keep control of the theme for now. So I thought when I chose a theme that it would change for all users including anonymous visitors. Ultimately this is how I would like it to operate. How do I go about setting it up so that when I change a theme all users will see that change?
Thank you again for your response...

I've tried everything, and nothing will sort it. If those files are the problem, could you please just post the code that needs to be inside them here, as I really dunno why it won't work.

Hello,

My XOOPS site is located at:
http://hair-metal.com/xoops/html/

As you can see I am a TERRIBLE web designer. I do however work for an excellent hosting company and have access to great hosting. My band uses XOOPS for our site but as you can see needs a serious makeover.

I am willing to trade 6 months (or longer) of free, reliable, ad-free hosting on either
Windows 2000, FreeBSD, or Linux RedHat servers in return for a complete XOOPS theme re-design.

Hosting features include:

500 MB Webspace (negotiable)
15 GB transfer (negotiable)

Unlimited domains, sub-domains, aliases, parking, redirects etc..

PHP
MySQL
*PgSql
*MSSQL
SSH access
FTP
Static IP
cPanel or H-SPhere control panel
Unlimited email including:
autoresponders, lists, aliases, forwarding and webmail.

..and more, just let me know anything else you need.

anyone interested email me at Craig@dirrtyhairy.com

Wellwine has a discussion area on his site.

You can find it at:http://wellwine.net/

Pitty thing is that the developer of this module doesn't respond for quiet somewhile on his discussion area.

Grtz., Shine
