hi! i have been looking around to make my own site and the people on here have been very helpfull in my other topic.

i have searched for all the portal systems like xoops, the only other one i would think of using is PHP nuke, but i dont know if you guys assosiate with this in any way?.
which do you think is better?
aren't they just both the same

Hi rian and thanks for the reply.

i've not seen the censura review so i'm not sure..

in addition i'd like to be able to submit an image on the review.. either that or allow html to be used even a wysiwyg editor for the info box would be ideal..

have you got a link where i can see censura in action and i'll let you know..

on the other note, yes i would be interested in testing your enhanced module.. let me know..

mydownloads and oh crap help

Well I am in the middle of switching over a friend of mines site over to XOOPS a way to help curb people from leeching off her site and stealing etc.. Anyway she has a pretty big download area on her site now and I am in the middle of switching it over hen I noticed a problem.

Now the only reason people are to register is to get the downloads etc... but I forgot that the mydownloads module has the "modify" link at the bottom of all files in the downloads area. Is there any possible way to get rid of this or block it cause I can't have and don't want that.

This is a one way site not really for contributing to and I am in bit of time sitch and all. I would really appreciate any help.

You might want to take a look at the xDirectory module. It's might be able to help you out.

My only suggestion for the access db, is extract the data to a CVS file, and try to import this into the xDirectory tables in your MySQL db. Then toss the access db in the garbage :P (joking) Just run the cvs export/update whenever you need to update your site. Still a little manual but I think easier than what you are doing.

i've had no problems with this after doing meme's modification..

also i've hacked the version i installed to work with XFSection instead of WFsection as i don't use WFsection.

if anybody wants the version i now use that works with XF section, let me know and i'll submit it..

I haven't added the XF section, just hacked the WF section bit, so the version i use works with XF section and not WF section..

You can not add a shockwave file (.swf) like you would a normal image. You will either have to embed the shockwave source or just use .gif or .jpg.
