I have had a few emails regarding this latest version of WF-Sections, mainly due to the fact that I have changed the database tables in this version.

I would like to point out to everyone who has downloaded this version (and the previous versions) that this module is a BETA version and NOT to be used on a production website.

If you are unsure of what the term BETA means then please do not download this module yet and install it on your production/fully working website, but please wait until I release a full version of this module instead.

I may/could/possibly will make changes to this module that will render the previous version un-workable, ie by changing the database structure etc and this cannot be helped when trying to get a module stable.

So please do not email me stating that the new version does not work when updating from one beta to another due to the fact that I have made changes.

Many thanks in advance.

Catz

Yes, Geneweb may be free, but as has been said by others TNG looks the superior application.
I have already purchased TNG for use in my family website which currently uses PHPnuke.
I am, though, not entirely happy with PHPnuke and, having recently discovered the joys of XOOPS, was considering switching.
However the lack of a decent genealogy nodule is a big drawback for me. Is there any news on this front and is there any chance of TNG being modularized?

Okay, I verified all HTML files were correctly copied over to my subdirectory (named xoops206). I still get the error message re: 'htmlSpecialChars' function. I started to modify the mainfile.php file directly, but the install process is certainly something I'd like to evaluate before choosing this CMS (I'm currently using Mambo). So, I decided to modify the 'htmlSpecialChars' function (line 96 of textsanitizer.php) to simply return the text argument(i.e. return $text).

This fixes all the initial startup screens and my mainfile.php file correctly lists the paths and db information. I'm thinking, cool, I'm on my way and should have this installed soon. Unfortunately, right after the database confirmation screen I get the following errors:

Parse error: parse error, expecting `T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING' or `'('' in /<mypathhere>/xoops206/class/database/databasefactory.php on line 24

Fatal error: Class declarations may not be nested in /<mypathhere>/xoops206/class/database/mysqldatabase.php on line 55

Bummer. I might try again later, but one of the issues I'm having with Mambo is upgrades. The initial install was easy, but upgrading (with backend db changes) is somewhat painful. I was hoping XOOPS might have a better upgrade process, but I can't even get the initial install to work.

If you don't see the login block... you can login on the page www.yoursite.com/user.php and then choose Administation or point at admin.php...

Turn MySQL/Block and php debugging on and post your error messages here. I suspect corrupted files under modules/system/

This issue has occured a few time before, if anyone can suggest why it's happening and how to fix it, I will be grateful. (In the past I have reinstall XOOPS to fix the issue.)

When I login to check on the template, athttp://[mysite]/modules/system/admin.php?fct=tplsets

I will see a partial box/table, like this
Resized Image
with nothing below it. I know there should be a box for me to add new template or something like that, but it appear the php files is "corrupted" after the Forzen Bubble entry...

This has happen 3-4 times before, always with a partial Templates column, and a blank Action column.

Am I the only one with the problem? Urggh

Please help...
