Re: Asked to change the name of the topic? OK - now => F**** XARAYA...

Please - not that kind of language here. Especially not, when talking about other CMS's.

We don't run a competition about being the best CMS - although we do our best to make XOOPS the best available (just like the Xaraya devs try to make Xaraya the best, the Mambo devs try to make Mambo the best etc.) and we most certainly have great respect for the work accomplished by the Xaraya team.

They are doing things their way and we do things our way - I believe that XOOPS' way is the best, but Xaraya does have some good things, which could be good to have in XOOPS also.

you could either move it from the portal folder into the main root folder, or you could change your domain start folder to the portal folder, thus making the portal folder your root as such..

of course, either way you will need to edit mainfile.php to reflect on the change..

ie.. changehttp://yourdomain.com/portal to yourdomain.com/

if you move the whole lot back into your root folder as it is, you will also need to edit the paths..

ie. ...../htdocs/portal to htdocs

if you change the domain to point to portal folder, you wouldn't need to change the paths only the URL's.. but that would make anything in your root folder as it is un-accessible to any1 typing in your domain name..

also any hardcoded url's in your files will need to be edited to reflect the change..

Does anyone know where I can find the SPAW Editor for Xoops? I downloaded off the programmer's site the SPAW Editor for PHP but I don't know if I have to have this ported into XOOPS or can I use it the way it came? If I can, I'd like to know how I can integrate it with XOOPS and replace the standard textarea editor.

I would like to know if it is possible to add the theme I am regularly using to the pages that show up in-between pages, like "Thanks for your submission. If this page doesn't reload click here." These pages use the XOOPS default theme, and not the one I am using for all regular pages.

Myalbum doesn't show total number of photos in the categories

I'm using Myalbum p-2.72 and below all the categories in my album it is saposed to say "There are X total photos in our database" but the actual number is omitted. I checked the Myalbum language file "main.php" and there's a line there:

define("_ALBM_THEREARE","There are <b>%s</b> photos in our database.");

So I assume %s is the string to display total number of photos in the album, but then I also found %s in the main.php language file to be under Total Comments and other places too.

How do I get this string to properly display the total number of photos I have in all my categories?

How do I move it to my main domain name and keep the current settings and database and everything? Thankyou for any help you can provide. Thankyou

Ok we have tracked the problem down to the private message feautre. Anytime someone on the site creates PM, after that point everyone starts becoming some one else. We have set the custom session time 0, that didnt help. We first thought in was a phpmyadmin module but the problem persisted. Does anyone know if the PM feature is affected by any other module.

Since the problem is not duplicable on this site (xoops.org), it has to do with the unofficial modules installed or your set up. I think it is more the first.

To find out which module is the culprit, you would have to uninstall the unofficial modules one-by-one and test F5 key after each uninstall.

Please keep us posted on which module is causing the problem, so the community and the developer could be advised of the security breach. Thank you.

If Google can't deal with those links, howcome it has indexed over 40.000 pages from this website?

ALso, in the next major release, there will probably be a good url rewrite engine included.
