there's a setting in the news module setup which changes the amount of articles displayed on the index page..

i had success with them and drop down menus on my old site, and they weren't that hard to implement.

the only problem i had is with some modules when images or a flash file was displayed near the top of the screen below the actual drop down menus, the dropdown menus would be covered up by the flash image and u couldn't see the menu item, so i had to put a few line breaks b4 the flash file to move it further down the screen.. i couldn't figure out how to cure that.. that's the only issue i had with it..

i'm sure i still have the drop down menu script somewhere.. i can't remember if it was backed up onto cd b4 my last hard drive failure in which i lost 60gb of files that i hadn't got round to backing up.. if i find it i'll let u know.

Hello all,
I've just recently started using XOOPS and so far I think it is the best thing going!
I have loaded the wf snippets module and was wondering where I might change the code for the main menu link?
I can change the main menu title from "wf snippets" to "Aviation Parts & Tools", but when this link is clicked on, it displays a sub link below the main link called "Submit Snippet".
This is good that a submit link is displayed, but I would rather it say "Submit A Reference".
I've looked up and down the wf snippet folders and files and can't figure what I need to do (not to experienced with PHP). Any thoughts are appreciated.

I have several sites that run XOOPS with News 1.21. However, one site in particular is causing me grief and I cannot figure it out for the life of me.

When I create multiple topics in News 1.21 and submit stories, earlier topics disappear from the News index page. The stories show up in the side blocks and can be accessed from the block links, but the index page will drop one topic to show the one just created or to which a new story was just added.

I've tried reinstalling News 1.21 and even tried running it with all the other modules deactivated. Didn't help. I'm stumped and would appreciate some suggestions. Other modules running on the site include:

Evennews
Soapbox
Xcgal
NewBB (latest public release)
and the other standard XOOPS modules (the ones included with the core files).

Thanks in advance,
Brian Cash

and you can always run them from the same folder with the different DB prefix. You can share tables among the sites with multisite hack. Pretty versatile.

OK:
1)You can position blocks wherever you want, just change the weight so they line up where you want them. It's not done thru the theme.
2)Yes, the table colors are done thru CSS. In the theme are style.css (For IE) and styleNN.css (for Netscape and Mozilla) You'll have to change BOTH so it looks good in all browsers.
3)I have to map the image where the links are. Then you just find the direct path to whatever you want to link to and make it the link.
