Ive installed Noah ecommerce mod and have a big prob.
My site has disappeared. Forbidden. visit www.shangri-la-la.co.uk/xoops-2.0.7/html/
Install says. Put htaccess file in root XOOPS folder. I did so. Then i attempted to adjust the hacks. Couldn't find the comand line 230 that the install refers to. No such line.
During my attempt to change the script i refreshed my home page after removing all blocks and now my site has GONE! Again! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH CRAP!
Please Help!

Thanks, I'll try this. But it's so much work!

It would be nice if upgrades of XOOPS has an easier way of organising how Blocks display on different pages.

I guess I found it...
open /include/xoops.js and /include/xoopsjs.php, find the line var maxchars = 65535; in both and replace with a higher value.

Unfortunatly, the only way to achieve what you want to do, is to clone the blocks, as you can only set the positon of a block once.

E.g.::User Menu
- take the file /modules/system/templates/blocks/system_block_user.html
- copy and name something like system_block_user_left.html
- open /modules/system/xoops_version.php in you editor
- insert the code, telling XOOPS about the extra template; it should look something like this
$modversion['blocks'][13]['file'] = "system_blocks.php";
$modversion['blocks'][13]['name'] = _MI_SYSTEM_BNAME2;
$modversion['blocks'][13]['description'] = "Shows user block";
$modversion['blocks'][13]['show_func'] = "b_system_user_show";
$modversion['blocks'][13]['template'] = 'system_block_user_left.html';

- go into sys admin -> modules, and update the system module
- if you are not using the default template set, you will need to generate the new template
- now you can set the new user menu to appear within the newbb module, in the leftsidebar

Unfortunatly you will have to do this with every block you want to have appear in different location in your site.

....hope this helps....

Thanks for the quick reply.

I have tried this and yes, it works. I can turn off blocks on the forums. But how do I move a block (it is actually a block that displays sponsors banners) from the right column, to the left column?

If I change the settings for where the columns appear in Blocks Admin, the changes are global. Is it possible to set these positions just for one particular page (in my case, the forums)?

I have tried to install a module that causes a "Module File Not Found"

How can I delete these entries. No matter what I try to do, I can delete them.

Thank you,

Rick

There seems to be a huge problem with my theme and newbb working with it and the pulldown bars. I have deleted and reinstalled all the forum template files, ran the proper updates and system updates for the module upgrade but my forums are going nuts with raw code spewing for images and pulldown bars that take up half the screen. If anyone knows a fix or wants to help, please do!

^^ Url for an example of what is happening.

Thankz!
