What is the XOOPS project
- An open source project
- Driven by the xoops.org community
- and by xoops local support communities

What's the project's vision?
- To keep what made its success : out of the box concept, object oriented, with a Versatile/ flexible Group Permissions System, secure, Ease-of-use
- To keep our CMS minimalist but make it more extensible : to offer the best modular platform for web php based applications
- To became a Social Network in a box with real content management functionality for Web applications. Thus, the main considerations for XOOPS core are security, performance and extensibility built upon well-designed architecture and high quality of code.
- To move forward progressively to a more professional platform
- To propose and encourage the creation of a large choice of add-ons (modules, themes)

Our Community is our essence = the XOOPS community manifesto
- The community recognizes the strengh of open source development, and incitates each member to share knowledge.
- Each Xoops member is able to hear other's opinion. It's up to each to convince others by discussion
- The community recognizes the role of past founders/active members/lead developers without denigration
- Everyone is willing to develope innovation by maintaining friendly atmospheere, and we ask each member, for that purpose, to act with humility and the willing of helping other members
- Its members recognize the benefit of participative attitudes, cooperation, team building, and true/fair relationships : synergy mode is our way of conduct,
- The community finaly wants to promote opensource spirit/attitudes and to federate its members energies for the benefit of their client and their own (the "Powered by you" concept)
