What Is The News Module

The XOOPS News Module Creates a Slashdot-like news section, where users can post news/comments.

What Are the Requirements

Version 1.67 Requires: PHP Version 5.2 or greater. it is(nt) PHP 5.3 Compatible MySQL Version .... XOOPS Version 2.5 or greater.

Installing The Module

Module Installation is the standard Module installation process.

The Module's Preferences

The Module's Blocks

News Topics - Shows All Of The Topics in a drop down box, based on the permissions of the user. (no User configurable options in the block pref.)

Big Story - Shows Big Story If There is One. The Big Story is one story that is also published in home and depending on the preferences it may or may not be an article that the user has the right to view. (no User configurable options in the block pref.)

Recent News - Can display x amount of articles that can be ordered by their rating/number of hits/published date where the user can also set the length title to show and how many characters to show for the teaser for the article.

there is also an option to enable the spotlight feature. the spotlight feature can show a specific item. the user can also specify an image to show with this article. the article can be displayed in the classical or tabbed style (). the other option for the spotlight feature is to show the recent news item.

other options: Color of the summary line (this is the line just below the tab's name) Background color of the tab's content Current tab header's color Color of header for the non selected tabs Header's hover color
